Patient: Muktar Mohammad

From: Ethiopia

Disease: Aplastic Anemia

Treatment: Bone Marrow Transplant

Doctor: Dr Dharma R Choudhary

Muktar Mohammad, a young Ethiopian patient in his early 20s, was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. However, due to the lack of proper treatment facilities and unavailability of a bone marrow transplant doctor in Ethiopia, he decided to seek treatment abroad in India.

Bone marrow transplant is the only effective way of completely curing Aplastic Anemia.

After doing thorough research on the internet, he choose BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi for his treatment. Dr Dharma Choudhary, the Director and Senior Consultant of Bone Marrow Transplant Department at BLK Centre, managed his case.

Muktar was experiencing symptoms like nose bleeding, gum bleeding, and blood in the urine, when he came to India. He had lost his appetite, which resulted in making him weaker over time.

However, after the surgery, Muktar feels better and has also got his lost appetite back and is recovering with a healthy glow on his face.
